A New, Strange Hobby

Since Cadence started going to "school," she has developed a new, strange, scary (for me) hobby. She loves it!!! I am extremely nervous about it! She tells people, strangers, about her hobby!!! Cadence loves to use SCISSORS! She wants to cut paper for the fun of cutting paper. She asks, "Mom, can I use the scissors, Mom?" "Mom, can I cut paper, Mom?"
This is what her scissor cutting hobby looks like! Wish us luck in trying to ensure that the only thing she cuts with the scissors are paper!

It is strange how scissors are so fascinating to children and like you said...it keeps you on your toes.

Good luck with the scissor safety!

Hehe... Bridget has cut two pair of pants, and a shirt since she started cutting. No hair yet, and all but the shirt was accidental.
Now she asks to use her scissors to cut open boxes, or cut off tags/loose strings from misc. clothing and toys. *sigh*
I don't think the interest in scissors will let up anytime soon.
She also likes cutting paper and then gluing it to paper... weird collage-like activities.
Anyway, have fun with it. And good luck!

I was just having a conversation with James today about scissors and Braxton. He was telling Braxton they were only for mom and dad. I told him wrong...he's at the age we need to start letting him play with...as you say 'the scary habit'. I just haven't been able to bring my self to do it yet. I was looking for some activities online today to start doing. Fun stuff! I wish you luck and think you group look like lots of fun.

Good luck! I don't have to worry about Ryan cutting his hair. I have to worry about him cutting his sisters!
