Chris' New Calling

About 6 weeks ago, Chris was told by the bishop that he was getting released as Young Men's President, he needed to be ordained to a High Priest and would be called to a new calling which had to be approved by the Stake President. My heart dropped when he said that. My first thought was that the calling better not be bishop. I really don't fit the stereotype of a bishop's wife. After a few weeks, we were called into the Stake Presidency's office and they asked Chris to be the new....High Priest Group Leader. Phew!!! That was a close one! I gladly accepted the calling for him saying that would be awesome!!! When I asked him what his responsibilities would be, his reply was, "I'm not sure. I've never been to the High Priest Group." This past Sunday, he was set apart to lead the High Priest group in this ward. He gets to oversee many widows and older high priest who have A LOT of health problems. There are at least 25 people over the age of 80 in this ward. He will do great and I am grateful for his new calling!!!

That sounds exciting. I think that being a bishop's wife would be sooooo stressful!

You could be a bishop's wife! You would be awesome at it! Lol My homeward has been trying to get my dad into the bishops chair, but whenever they interview him for it, his job hours prevent him from such a calling. You should see the relief on his face afterwards. He's been interviewed 3 times! You never know...Chris might become a bishop someday!
