The Perfect Trick-or-Treat

This Halloween was incredible partly due to the perfect, warm weather. It was so warm that all we wore were long sleeves. If this is what global does, I am a fan of it:)

After running errands in the morning and afternoon, we drove home on Main Street and saw many kids trick-or-treaing. I asked Cadence if she wanted to go. She said she wanted to watch an "ABC movie." So that is what we did! Then we got ready for a costume contest at King's. I don't think my kids will win, but we had their picture taken for it. Cadence chose to be Cookie Monster and I dressed Cooper in a Santa outfit. He will probably be grown out of it by Christmas so I decided to have him wear it now!!! They both looked cute! I also told Zander and Tangi about the contest. Chris picked Zander up since Tangi's car was broken. I hope he wins because he makes an amazing Captain Hook. The prizes are a bike, $30 or $20 gift certificate. After dinner, we started our trick-or-treating. How fun it is to watch Cadence knock on a door, open her little kitty bag and say in her sweetest voice "trick-or-treat." If someone didn't answer the door immediatelt, she would turn around and say they are not there. After getting a treat, she told the friends, "Thank you. Happy Halloween."
Her favorite treat of the night was an apple given to her by Foxy Roxie Marshall. Immediately after she received it, she asked if she could eat it. We let her!!!
Cadence received a lot of candy considering how many houses we visited. She would take two or three candies at each house. One for her and one for Cooper. I learned an interesting concept this year called a "Daddy (or Mommy) tax." That's where I get to "tax" some of her candy for me:) Actually, she doesn't like nuts and some other candy so I get to share with her even without taxing the candy. We love holidays and all the fun they bring! Dressing up is fun! We love Halloween!

HOW CUTE! I loved the warm weather too. It made for a fun night and we weren't rushing home to get out of the cold.

The kids are so cute in their costumes! It was the perfect trick-or-treating weather. I remember going as a kid and having to wear a coat over my costume, no fun. I told Kyle that kids now a days are much luckier at Halloween time because of global warming. :)

It was the most perfect weather ever to trick-or-treat. We were out until 10:00 at night. I do love the little Santa outfit Cooper was wearing. That is too bad it won't fit him for Christmas.

I'm so glad you guys won 2nd place. That is so fun...and the $30 is just a bonus. It always makes you feel good when your kids get a little spot light. Someday I'll get our pictures posted.
